Robin's Little Cakery

Hi, I'm Robin, owner and creator of Robin's Little Cakery.  I began this business in 2011 after realizing that cake was my calling...though I never would have known if  I hadn't started working in the bake shop of a local market just a couple years before.  You see, I was an art kid, working her way through college debt and selling paintings on the side for a living.  I had no idea where I was going; I only knew I wanted to make stuff...that's how I always was.

As  a youngster I loved to draw.  My family and teachers noticed my talent and pushed me to showcase my work, which I did.  As I grew, I had to wonder.  What was I going to do with my life?  Pursuing my interest in the arts, I attended the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and left the comfort of my 2D classes with a new interest in creating sculpture, working in wood, metals, fabric, and natural materials.  After graduating in 2007 with a degree in 3D studies (and having to explain to many of my employers what exactly that was), I took up teaching for awhile.  Though I learned a lot about myself, I knew that deep down I just wanted to work with my hands.  The years of working in food retail paid off when I was appointed to be the cake decorator at my part-time supermarket job and began exploring the world of cake.  Since then, I've worked at Montilio's Baking Company in Brockton, Massachusetts, studied baking, and created hundreds of cakes using modern methods and applying my own funky sculptural knowledge.  Compelled by the new media interest in cake and sugar art, I'm finally here to make cake...with an art school twist, of course.
